The things is we (humanity) desire more power. Jesus already had all power and put it aside (and wasn't tricked/tempted by the devil into getting it back) so that we might understand and experience his true power. We use our power more than not for evil but he used his power for our ultimate good.

This is topsy turvy, upside downy, taking things to a whole new level stuff and is what Christians in community should do for each other.

"Jesus was never about power" hmmm ... just began reading a book called 'Jesus & Power' I understand what you mean but first impression is - strange to set up such a distinction between power and love "It’s not about power. It’s about love". The coolest thing about Jesus for us is that he has ALL powerful and authority but yet is loving, saving, faithful, self sacrificing - so different from what we know.
What good is powerless love? How good is powerful love!
