News to remember

One of the features of modern life is that we get heaps of news, but not very much of would qualify as “gospel.” I was trying to think of times that news has been so big that I remember where I was when I first heard it. I can think of three:

1. Death of Princess Diana (at Zoe’s house in Subi, drinking coffee)

2. September 11 (house-sitting at Nigel’s, watching West Wing)

3. Death of Michael Jackson (in York, watching Sunrise [which I'm not proud of])

Are there other times you can remember hearing news that was so big you remember where you were when you heard it? Especially good news. I reckon if a) it was so big you remember exactly where you where when you heard it and b) it was good, then you’ve experienced something the Bible would call “gospel.”

More on Sunday :)
