Welcome to the Unichurch Blog!

Welcome along! My name is Rory Shiner and I am on the pastoral staff of St Matthew’s Anglican church here in Perth, just near the city in the suburb of Shenton Park. I am responsible for the 7pm Unichurch congregation. 

This blog is mainly about extending the Sunday teaching ministry. Every Sunday we spend a good part of our time together learning from Scripture. However, the time limitations mean that we never get to say everything that could be said, and, despite our regular tradition of a question time after the sermon, we never get to address every question. So, the hope and plan is that this blog will become a forum where we can include stuff that didn’t make it to Sunday, follow up on questions we didn’t answer on Sunday, or give me a second chance to answer questions I made a mess of on Sunday!

I also intend to have guest bloggers come in and post on various things of common interest to us.

At the moment, our semester series is on the book of Genesis, so I am expecting that our posts in the next six months will include stuff on creation, sin, the flood, election, Israel, providence, covenant and Egyptian burial techniques.
